UCLABruins.com: Track and Field

Alec and Andrea Faldermeyer are both throwing the hammer for UCLA track and field. Alec is a sophomore three-time All-American, Andrea is a first-year law student at UCLA after completing a bachelors degree from Cornell last spring.

Hammer throw practices have become a family affair for UCLA track & field coach Mike Maynard.

Maynard’s star pupil, sophomore Alec Faldermeyer, burst onto the collegiate scene in 2011, earning first-team All-America honors in the hammer throw with a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship and a sixth-place finish in the weight throw at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Read more…
